With our hard-working team of over 100 employees, we apply sustainable, green thinking to benefit our customers and communities, through the conscientious recycling of hazardous materials according to EPA standards, and by reducing the volume of industrial scrap metal commonly disposed of in landfills.
EQUIPMENT ASSETS WAS FOUNDED
Equipment Assets was founded in January 2008 by brothers Curt and Tony Hewines. Because of the Great Recession, large plants were closing across America. We saw this as an opportunity and became a capital equipment demolition company.
EXPANDED RECYCLING OPERATIONS
After seeing a large about of forklifts in need of recycling well demolishing warehouses, we began to process them at our facility and recycling all of their components.
MOVED TO LARGER FACILITY TO ACCOMMODATE GROWTH
After increasing our production, we outgrew our small warehouse in Royal Oak, MI and moved to our location in Troy in October, 2010. This is now our headquarters.
RENOVATED FACILITY TO DOUBLE OFFICE SPACE
EXPANDED OPERATIONS AGAIN TO INCLUDE BATTERY RECYCLING
We began to process and recycle lead acid batteries in house.
DEVELOPED AND LAUNCHED REPOWER PRODUCT LINE
In October 2014, we started production on our line of Repower Batteries, high-quality reconditioned lead acid batteries.
ADDED 120,000 SQFT OF MFG SPACE WITH THE OPENING OF OUR NEVADA CAMPUS
As our battery recycling division expanded, we moved all forklift processing to our new location, the Nevada Warehouse in Detroit, MI.
ADDED GIRARDIN CAMPUS, HOUSING AN ADDITIONAL 60,000 SQFT OF MFG. SPACE
In July 2023, we moved all of the battery recycling to our newest location, the Girardin Warehouse in Detroit, MI.
RENOVATED TROY PRODUCTION OPS TO TRIPLE REPOWER PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES
We renovated our Troy Warehouse to increase our production of Repower helping to increase our stock and to better serve our customers.
